I would probably be able to borrow my dad's truck. He has a 4 door 4x4 Ford Power stroke diesel 2000 model. According to my maps it would be about 30 hours of driving. We could go straight up into the edge of Nebraska then cut into the eastern side of Wyoming and spend the night in Casper. My uncle has driven it and said it takes about 16 hours. The map says it's longer, but he told me you can really make up time going across all the flatland. The next day's trip would take about 10 to 12 hours which is still a good haul, but not as bad. If we left on a Friday at noon and went to Amarillo we might could make all the way the next day. It's about 8 hours from Waco to Amarillo. Either way is o.k. with me. When we got there we could then hunt all week and leave on Friday @ noon and haul a** back to Texas. What do you think about that? I talked to IDAHOCATMAN on the phone and he said it would definitely be in our best interest to hunt during the week because everyone up there is a weekend warrior.

Don't worry about the truck. I've got it covered. So drive on Friday and Saturday rest on Sunday and go elk crazy on Monday thru Thursday. I like the plan to get a bit further north but I have also secured a place to stay in Amarillo if we decide to do that. I'm a football coach so hopefully I can time this just right. What days are we talking about exactly? C'ya later guys!
