Something that Arctic Cat owners should be aware of

yet iv had nothing but good with imports. Ran and bashed toyotas for years with never a issue. Same with the import quads that the little one has no one issue with it. In fact the new one i just picked up with no motor is actually the best kids quad i have seen. The width on this thing makes it extremely stable, disk brakes all around, grease fittings everyware. Now try finding some or any of those features on those big name brands.

I guess you mean the std equipment features are better on a lot of Chinese machines than a lot of name brand atvs. I AGREE with you that standard all wheel disc brakes, grease fittings, should be on ALL the youth machines, but man ALL the posts on weak Chinese electronics, wiring problems, engine problems versus the higher dollar "Taiwanese made" youth machines such as Kymco which did make parts for Honda before splitting and forming their own company.Again I know the cost difference of the Chinese atvs versus the name brands make it easier for some to afford one in the first place. I guess what I'm saying is that I'd buy a Chinese machine only if they gave me an extra one so I could rob parts off of it to keep the other one running.. And now they're going to import Chinese Suvs. Who's gonna be the first one to buy one? Just playing devil's advocate on this one..

The old saying of "you get what you pay for" is usually right. The Chinese quads are great if you're a decent mechanic and don't mind doing constant little fixes on things that last for years on higher quality machines. I can't imagine anyone defending their build quality and reliability. They're cheap and the parts are cheap at least. Its up to the individual if they want to invest the extra time and effort to keep up on the extra maintenance.

I have had absolutely 0 problems with my little ones other Chinese atv. Other than normal wearing parts. Everything has its issues. Iv just been lucky i guess. when i first got my little one her atv her little friend got a Can am machine. The first summer they were riding the little guy did not get to ride. Everytime he went to ride the machine broke. It spend all summer in the shop. Difrent problem every time

I have not had good luck with imports. My current Honda with only a couple hundred miles was in the shop and a previous Honda was a nightmare; replaced engines, leaky shocks, and I had to carry fuses in my pockets like spare change. Meanwhile my Harley w/ 60,000 miles on it has only had regular maintenance and a drive belt. At work here in the middle east we had 3 brand new Toyota SUVs and all three had major issues - one had tranny issues, one had to have an engine replaced, and the other had major electrical problems.

Test ride several different brands, narrow it down to what you like and you can kinda get a feel for the dealer and possibly the techs if you get a chance to talk to one.
