iv posted just about every ware so maby someone has a idea here. 2014 arctic cat 500 the other day i pulled the belt cover to clean everything up for the season forgot to do it last year. Was pretty dirty in their and the belt had a few good cracks in it. Pulled my spare belt that i pulled of a few years earlier that was still in good shape and put it all together. Couple trips up and down the road and all seemed good. Went for a ride the next day and got about 25km and belt grenades nothing left looked like i had a few rubber bands only on my clutch.. Came home and pulled things apart and got it all cleaned up and started trying to find reasoning behind belt over heating. Found 6 out of 8 rollers had flat spots and the outside bushing in the movable side of primary half is almost falling out i can almost pull it out with c clip in place.
Now the kicker arctic cat never made a replacement bushing for the primary they want you to buy the whole half. This same clutch has been in use on the 500 and below machines since at least 2000 and do you think i can find a replacement bushing anyware? Hard to believe aftermarket has not made one in almost 20 years.

 

I would contact various clutch mfgrs or clutch tuners.

 

Iv pretty much contacted them all most of them were ok and somewhat helpful, others seemed pretty choked that i called even looking for that part, The only company that was truly helpful was Adam at Airdam. He explained how that clutch was built and such explaining that that sleeve is pressed in and basically non serviceable and as i had already found no one has the part. Even emailed kymco since its a kymco clutch never heard back and their dealers were less than helpful figured i may get it a few $$ cheaper than cat.. Since i cant verify the condition of a used one im stuck with buying a new clutch from cat
