I was sort curious about towing straps and the like. What types of straps and ****** blocks do you guys carry with you? Have you come up with any creative places to store them on your bikes?

Thanks again!

Walmart carries a 20 foot tow strap that has a hook on both ends, is rated at 3000 lbs and has a little, waterproof zipper bag that has velcro straps and it hooks right on the front rack. Easy to get to and works just fine for unsticking Hondas.

I just carry my ****** block ready to go on the winch cable. The arctic cat winch mount plate has 2 rings to stow the hooks, so i put the winch cable hook on one side, the ****** block hook on the other, and tighten it up good with the winch motor.

I broke my winch in by putting 500 lbs of sand on a pallet and dragging it to me (using most of the 50ft of cable). That's 500lbs of dead weight, not rolling weight like you might get by towing your bike to something immoveable. It pulled the load real easy, but the driveway got gouged up.

I actually thought I would do a variation of the winch to vehicle break in. I hooked my winch to the rear of my vehicle (a 2000 Buick Regal) put my vehicle in neutral and pulled my vehicle up a small slope behind my house. The problem that I ran into was that the vehicle was so heavy that it actually started defeating the disc brakes on my AC 375. I would have to pump the master cylinder a few times to get the brakes on the AC to grab. I'm assuming that I didn't have them properly burnished at this point.

The winch pulled the car with ease tho.

Minehunter, I bought a 20 ft strap at WalMart but couldn't find the one in the bag like you said. I ended up stowing the strap under my seat. I stuffed my hooks down in an empty space by the battery and folded the webbing in such a way that the seat would close over it. That worked out pretty well.

Thanks for the tips!
