Idle problem on my new cat
#12
AARRGHH! It did it to me again! No matter what I do, I have to put it in gear to stop it from idling too high. And I rode it for an hour BEFORE this happened again. I don't see it as an idle adjustment. Maybe fuel issue?

Hi, my cat also had the same problem with a high idle speed when warm. I was just at my dealer tonight and asked him about it. He said that the throttle lever on the handle bars should have about 3/16"-1/4" of free travel before the rpms raised (slack in the throttle cable). Mine had zero. To adjust this, slide back the rubber boot on the throttle cable on the handle bar end and loosen the lock wheel (mine was loose already), then turn the adjuster on the cable to adjust the free play in the lever. Then tighten the lock wheel and slide the boot back up. About as clear as mud right? I don't know if it will fix yours but that was the problem with mine. Some thing to keep and eye on anyway. Hope I helped out.
