Minehunter
Sorry to hear you left the world of Cat but there's no denying that the new Grizz is one bada$$ bear! I went riding with 3 660s and 3 700s and all I can say is WOW! What a sight to see all those machines going through the mud. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the pictures come out ok. Hope the new bear keeps you happy and stop by to check out the Cat forum from time to time.

Gowili- Try backing it in. I could fit mine in my 90 model Chevy if I backed it in, and I could still close the gate. The rear rack doesn't extend far enough to get into the rear window either. I would imagine it would fit. Mine fit fine until I put the kimpex bumpers on, and that was the end of it. Might want to lift up on the front rack and slide some kind of cushion in though or it might eat up the top of your tailgate if it moves around. Still, it will fit in there.

I still have the Cat so I'll stick around. I didn't really want to give up the features of the Cat it's just that I wanted a new machine and for a measely $75 difference I could get the Grizzly vs. AC500I. Be honest, which way would you go?

Oh I'll be honest and say the Grizz, almost $7000 for a 500 Cat seems steep to me. So far I have seen mostly green and red, one brown and sliver. No camo Grizz yet, I hear they don't scratch nearly as easy. Oh yea, Minehunter I posted a question to you about auto trannys on the Automatic Belt Question. If you get a chance could you take a look, I just don't want to stick in another post and it not anything worth making a real post for.

More machine, same money. You can hardly go wrong. Besides it is a Yammie, a very reputable company. I myself have been considering a new machine, but I want to see what AC is going to offer us for '03. Thanks again for the info on the tranny mod. Its like a dream come true! Plenty of grunt. I'm sure you will be happy on that Griz!! If not you can always sell and come back to the CAT!\

Yamaha has been around a long time, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they are more reliable than an AC. AC's aren't that popular, but its not because of the build quality. This is the first Yamaha I've had in a long time, and I do love it. I don't know how they did in the 90's, but I will say that in reliability terms, my 2 80's model yamaha's didn't hold a candle to my 80's model Honda.

It wasn't $7000 for the Cat. It was $6550. The Grizzly was $6625. Not that much difference in price. I just wish the dealers around here would offer some of those phenomimal price like you see back east.

For that price diff I would o with the bigger one, but then again I love the clearance of the Cats. AC has not been in the quad bus for too long, but they are catching up!!!

bad a$$ ain't the word for the new griz,my bro inlaw and i went ridin with a bunch of honda boys, ex fever around here anyway a old friend come ridin up on his griz, the honda boys were real surprised to see this big bear hangin right with their modified 400's,their eyes got really huge when this boy started smokin the tires and cuttin donuts on pavement!!!i just sat back and enjoyed the excuses them sport boys had as to why they could'nt pull away from that big ol 4x4.i'm a mud hound deep down,so there pavement antics and high speed drags just seemed alittle to insane for me,so me and my cat lumbered into the nearby swamp to cool off!swampkat40
