It's there to keep fuel slosh from rough terrain causing the engine to bog momentarilly.
I have ran with them and without them and I have never noticed any thing different riding over rough terrain, and that's saying alot considering there is no suspension.
I usually throw them away.

I really don't mind at all. I love this forum and chatting about all bikes...ATC or quad.
Besides, I may know alot, but I don't know it all, especially regarding some of the newer stuff. Not as an affordable sport as it used to be.
I learn as much as the next guy. Just glad to actually be of assistane from time to time.

Is it normal for the plug to fuel blacken idleing. When I run it in my garage idleing the plug tends to blacken. I took it for a couple of trips up and down the road and the plug cleaned up. The carbs rebuilt seems to run better. Also when I tried to adjust the pilot screw like the book says by letting it warm up then turn it clockwise till it dies then back off then back out one full turn. I can turn it in all the way and it still runs. Starting to get irritated. Any help would be appreciated. I know the carb might be shot, but am hoping it's not that.
