Post kill stories about trikes vs quads

Any trike is fine but I would especially like to hear about something a little less sporty than a 250r or 350x

And folks try to refrain from raptor vs atc 110 type stories. I'd like to hear some real world results.

I've got one regarding lowend.

My father has a 1982 200 BigRed that we put a SprocketSpecialties 74 tooth rear sprocket on. Before you laugh, keep in mind that my father uses this thing for purposes designed for tractors.

For fun a couple years ago, we put it in low range and connected it "rear-to-rear" with a TRX400 Foreman.

Even with the Foreman's 4x4, it was no match for the BigRed in low range. Traction was perfect, and I believe that if it hadn't been so hard to keep the front end down on the BigRed, it would have actually yanked that Foreman around like a ragdoll.

I did a similar gearing change to a 185 years ago. Lemans Corporation makes an 8 tooth front sprocket [or did] for these bikes. You trash the sprocket keeper and make a ollar for the backside while using a snapring to hold it from sliding off the shaft. Then we put a SS 74 tooth rear on it similar to my father's setup. Nothing like it. You can actually just put it in 5th from a dead start and keep it there for casual riding. No shifting required. Top speed is in the 8 to10mph range....LOL...And when you get to topspeed, that engine is singing.

cool !

the power of gear ratio!

I was messing around with the old "honcho" project years ago and ended up gearing it too high. If the engine would have been able to wind out it would have went over 50 in first gear. (it had a 200s engine)

wolverine,

I don't where those pics on your photopage of the BigRed and Wolverine wheelies were took, but if that's your property spread in the back ground, that would make for a killer track location!!

Knows

The background is from a rental property in Washington state. I am from Louisiana though and we have over 400 acres of flat land with about 20 in the woods. I probably will build a track back there when I move back in a couple of years.
