Default ATC 110 shift problem

When a machine is not too old, it is less likely to have a transmission or shifting unit problems. What just happened to me (rather to my 2000 zx6r bike, - the transmission work is relevant, although it is not an ATV), is exactly what you described. So I could have ended up with a $1500 bill for replacing a gear or two at a dealership, while the reason is more rudimentary: a little bit deteriorated oil and stretched clutch cable. If you go through troubleshooting in most manuals, shifting problems will point first to clutch not disengaging properly, then you go to the clutch troubleshooting, and find that a lot depends on the oil viscosity and its level, and cable adjustment. I would say we'd rather start with the simplest, although our suspicions can lead us to the most expensive journeys. This is what I did: called dealers, contemplating paying the bill and thinking why my machine has not lasted me more than 4 years, and learning more, then playing with oil level and viscosity and clutch adjustment. It shifts like a Swiss watch would, just tested it an hour ago. Your forums helped, thanks.

Ya, gotta turn the adjuster the right way, counterclockwise tho, not clockwise, until you feel the restistance then back clockwise a qaurter turn. Your clutch could be slipping, but the initial problem you posted sounds like a shift shaft spring, or arm that's broken, anyway some kind of a linkage problem. The linkage parts are under the RIGHT cover tho. You have to remove the clutch, and the big primary gear and you have access to the linkage. Lucky for you, it doesn't sound like a shift drum or fork problem.

Default shifting problem

Hi, I am a first-time 3 wheeler owner and my 1984 act 110 transmission is not working right. when I say this every gear but second does not work in both high and low range. I've changed the oil and there were no metal shavings and when I shift it into 2 gear it acts like a neutral and I've looked everywhere on the internet for a way to fix it and I thought I would have some luck here. if anyone knows what's wrong I am open to any ideas that yall have.
