nice, brown plug, lotsa carbon buildup though
hey guys....i finally got a nice brown colored plug on my big red....though i think its burning oil. its not smoking, and doesent appear to be loosing any oil, but the plug is pretty black around the outside(not the electrode) the ngk 8 plug is nice n brown though on the electrode. its seeping a bit of oil out of the left side of the headgasket, i even tried to tighten the head nut....no luck. maybe i shouldn't have used the absolute cheapest gasket set i could find haha.. oh well, if anyone has any experience with leaking oil being burned and messing up plugs....any help would be appreciated. maybe its not burning oil??

Well if its not loosing any oil and is not smoking you are probably not burning it all. A few things could cause this. the type of oil you are using for one. Dont buy the cheap crap get the good stuff. For example maxium 4. Second, your spark might not be "intence" enough. it could be from a weak eletrical system. I would try re-gaping your plug a little bit smaller. try 0.020. If its running good i wouldnt worry about it that much. you might even have to keep going down on the jetting to a nice tan color....good luck
