Default air stryker tuning help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know where my air mixture screw is set. I'll check it when I get home today. Why are you using a spacer with your reed cage? Do you really need it? It is my understanding that running with a spacer could change things. If I'm wrong someone please let me know.

Default air stryker tuning help!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just looked at the bike and i do have an exaust leak so im gonna run out and get a new clamp. i just changed the reeds last week though and the cage didnt appear to be warped. the funny thing about this is no matter how high i went on the main jet my plug was still white. ill let you know if that works

let me see if i have this right... for a plug chop you let the bike warm up then ride it normally for a few min. then drive it at full throttle to fifth gear and hit the kill switch while its at full throttle then check the plug.

jkass the reed spacer came on the bike when i bought it, i was told it is for a better lower end and this bike has a strong lower end.but duncan racing recomends that you dont use one so im thinking of removing it

if there isnt adequate back pressure from the exhuast the jetting in the cylinder will be subject to change drastically. think about it, a 2 stroke doesnt have valves like a 4 stroke to seal the cylinder on combustion so the exhuast system on a 2 stroke has to be well maintained or you'll lose power via lose a proper A/F ratio. also check your packing while you're at it. i notice a nice gain in my lower end after i changed mine a couple trips back.

i dont think its the reeds. technically reeds are only for low RPM's. in the highier RPM's you dont really want them closing. hope someone doesnt make me eat those words. be gentle.

Default air stryker tuning help!!!!!!!!!!!!

My uncle takes his 86 to RP Racing in El Cajon, He is happy with them so far he's had it there a few times now. I've been to Itami in Imperial Beach with a 84 air cooled 250R and I've never had a problem with him. He is just hard to get a hold of. He doesn't answer the phone you have to go down there to the back of the shop. He is Closed Sat, Sun and Mon. Good luck, their are alot of shops that will work on a H20 cooled 2-stroke. No matter what year. Just remember if they work on the TRX 250R they can work on your ATC the engines are almost identical.

Allen Fox of Fox racing is a true race engine builder in Alpine. He's been known to be called the best around San Diego and comes with a price and waiting time which leads me to believe it's true. PM me if you want his number.
