200m problem

Default 200m problem

i have a 1984 200m and i cant figure out whats wrong with it it always starts first pull but after 30 minutes of riding it gets realy realy hot and shuts off and i have to leave it for 10 minutes to cool then i have about 5 minutes to get home before it gets realy hot again it misfires alot and backfires when it starts to get hot my plugs are usauly realy black around the outside im only runninhg 5w 30 john deere oil is that not good help!!!!

Are all the fins on the cylinder good and clean?
Are you full on oil? When you check it do not screw the dipstick in, just touch it to the case and look at it. If you screw it in it will put you a little over 1/4 quart low.
I'm not saying your oil wont work, but 10W-40 wet clutch oil is what that bike calls for.
How does the plug look in the center, is it real white?

I would try to run it without the gas cap on it could be clogged up and vaporlocking your gas tank...

i have all the fins on my engine my oil is at the right height my plug is tan in the middle and realy black around the uotside when i stop turn it off i can hear gas all the sudden go into carb like a sucking sound maybe my gas cap is cloged also somone said i should replace my oil filter would that help keep it cool thanks for all the help

there is no oil filters in honda 200m engines

Have you tried to take your gas cap off and run it like that for a while???
