WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!
Yes a carb kit will help your problem out if it is in fact getting too much gas. Have you checked your plug to see if it is wet after running or a bunch of carbon built up on it??? There is no difference in the carb rebuild kits they are the same carbs I think. But I would be on the safe side and buy the 83-85 200x. There are a few on ebay right now.
Good luck

Don't even consider a carb issue until you have checked that the valves are in spec first.
You said it "sounds" like its getting too much gas, so start with the basics of tuning before assuming parts need replaced.
However, you may need a valve adjustment AND a carb rebuild. : )
Also,welcome to the forums

yea if it is the carb-
check the needle and seat that the floats sit on to see if there worn out ,if it isnt shutting off the fuel it will just keep flooding ,and turn the plug black,no matter of the valves
