It shouldnt hurt it one bit. Ive been using Torco GP-7 at 40-1 for over 25 years in all my 2 strokes. Even my blower and edger run on it at that ratio.

That is precisely why I asked. I have an edger and weed whacker that are two strokes and they run 40:1, so I was getting tired of having an extra gas can w/ 20:1. I figure it's better to be too rich than too lean. Didn't know if it would affect the rings or exhaust down the road though.

i run my r at 50:1 with amsoil dominator. even at that ratio ,it will smoke some if you lug it. you will be fine with 40:1 with a quality oil.
