If I were you hoss,
I would not believe anything about the reliability problemns of the early 200x's, that only happens if you run the dog **** out of them and don't take care and do regular maintenance... I have never had a problem with mine

A common problem for the early 200x's is the kick start gears inside the case go bad. I've also heard of the later 200x's actually breaking off the kick start shaft. I think they are very relyable machines. I'd probably leave it stock with the exception of a pipe and filter.

How hard is it to replace the kickstart gears when they go bad??? Mine bit the dust right after I bought it and I only got to ride it 4 times. I would like to fix it up a little bit and use it as a play bike. Thanks for any help.

It is acctualy easier then most would think as long as you have 2 things. A book, or shop manual. People really underestimate these books but they will help you through alot, regardless what the problem, most of them give a little insight into everyhing. The ohter thing you will need is basic motor common knowledge. other then that you would be good to go, if you need anymore help let us know, I am sure that others on the board are willing to help you out as well as I... Take it easy
