How does everybody feel about the TRX250R being pushed out of PRO competions by the new rules? Even at my local track and riding spots 250R's are becoming few and scarce. It seems like people are starting to forget that the 250R has been the dominate racer for the past 18 years. I'm glad to see our sport expanding at such a rapid rate but I will stay true to my 2-Stroke heritage. I know I shouldn't be complaining because 18 years is along time to be at the top.....but I'm a little sad to se the old R's glory starting to fade.

yes it is a sad day indeed, but they are on a steady downslope. Companies are putting all of their money into the new 4-strokes and the twos are becoming a thing of the past. R's will be running hard for a long time, there's too many die hard two stroke guys out there to let them go. No they are not the all-mighty dominating force that they once were, but I have a feeling the 250's aren't giving up quite yet,

what bums me out is if I ever wanted to go pro, I would have to buy a new quad that I woulden't even like.

I respect the new YFZ450 and the TRX450R but when I go to the track and prepare my bike I get grinned at like they want to say "Your still riding one of those?" Wether you respect the 250R or any other of the 2-strokes from the 80's or not, you'll never stop them from getting on that podium.

250r's will NEVER be forgotten, they have held the throne this long so who cares what people say about them, they are just that blind. Dana Creech still uses his 250r based frame to win prolly 90% of his races, impressive.

I personally blame it on the new riders. Most people who rides to day are really lazy. I want a cushy seat, reverse unstead of a 6th gear. A battery and a button start yeahhhhhh. What the hell makes all that garbage needed in a sport quad. Sports are for raceing not leasure rides. Hell ride a dame utility and put around with you mothers. They dont want to mess with jetting. Most dont know anything about it or how there bike runs for that matter just pay someone to do it. They cant handle the 2 stroke power band. 4 strokes are just easy for people and that is what society has become. It just a shame because if nobody jumped on the ***** stokes we would have some bad azz quads by now. Unstead we have quads that are 20 years newer and no faster then the old ones. And on top of that it is going to take law and rule changes to finally knock them off there thrown. ridiculos.

FYI: Creech is in the Pro Production class, which means that he is running a new machine. 250R based?
What I think sucks is the rules state stock frame and cases and a stock 250R don't count.
I love my R!

no, creech is on a YFZ that i'm sure has been modified as far as the rules allow... saw it at glen helen.

i don't agree that the rule change was for panzies that couldn't work on a bike, i believe it was to try to get the manufacturers involved again, which i belive has happened... and on some level, i believe money changing hands is what pushed for the rules to become what they are, but that's just an opinion about the politics involved.... and it wouldn't surprise me if it's true.
on another level, we need such classes to help the influx of new riders/racers into the sport... lowering the cost to start is vital to the survival of it.

Aparently a misunderstanding.
Yes he's on a Yamaha. Yes he's in the Pro production class. Yes it's modified to the rules.
I'm just not sure how 250R based the yamaha is.I know the Suzuki's are.You tell me.
