The good thing about the warrior is you could randomly drive into trees and not have to worry about it breaking down. Its build like a tank, but in some areas it tends to handle that way too.

In my opinion, and quad that does a top speed of at least 55mph is fine for fast trails because I dont think you are going to find many trails you can go faster in then that. I think a warrior would be fine for xc and the other guy is right they are built like tanks and sometimes handle like tanks but for most of the stuff anyone would encounter it would be fine. I think anyone could win xc races on one if you are good enough because in xc its not as important to have mindblowing acceleration like you need on a track....but dont get me wrong acceleration is still good!! and with a warrior I would just try to get everything out of it that I could lol

The Warrier is a good trail quad and that is all. Before '98 you could use it in xc racing because there was nothing else. But after the 400ex came out and in the last 2-3 years the new quads will leave the Warrier in there dust. Like he said it is built like a tank and handles like a tank. You need to have a quad that handles like a sports cars not a tank. Any of the new 400's or 450's are much better for xc racing.
