Enduros & Hare Scrambles??

In the Harescrambles that I have run, including an AMA National race, it is a race that generally lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours (sometimes longer) on a trail that is a minimum of 5 miles in length thru natural wooded terrain.
Classes all run on the course at the same time although start times are staggered by class (usually 1 minute between classes).
The first person on the lead lap to finish after time is called wins the race (for his class), the rest filter in behind him. Time is called for each class separately (based on when they started).
These events are usually very competitive and very fun.
Have a look at the Missouri State HareScramble Series stats to get an idea of how they are scored.
An enduro places less emphasis on being fast, you try to be at specified check points at specified times. You are penalized for arriving early or late. I have never raced an enduro, so maybe someone else can be more specific on the details of this kind of event.
Have a look at the BlackJack Enduro Circuit webpage for more information on this type of event.

Yeah, there is no "rabbit" in any hare scramble I've ever seen. They are just flat out races - each class starts out 1 minute apart and the first one to the finish wins. The times are also adjusted to take the staggered start into consideration so that everyone competes for the overall win. Even though the guy who wins the pro class almost always wins the overall, anyone - even someone in the beginner class - could conceivably win it.
