I did a little research and one of the best ways of fighting arm pump is with a simple hammer. The article said to take as heavy a hammer that you have and hit a flat tire so it doesn't bounce back. Do each arm for as long as you can every other day and you will notice a difference.

Just build you muscles, pop a few Ibuprofen before you ride.

Default little known secret

Your best bet is to build up your arm strength I have the good fortune of knowing a proffesional strength coach (I couldnt afford him at $110 an hour LOL) he put me on a routine with different curls and the regular arm training the key though was all the bars he uses are THICK like 2" what a difference when you use them !Not to many public gyms use them there is a place you can get a thick grip training device pretty cheap too good info there as well http://fatgripz.com they also include a killer arm routine good luck

Good replys!
There has been many opinions on this thru the years and pills that supposedly help, but Doctor Ragon (Dr. at the races) said the only real way is to gain from working out.

I started doing two things last November, and being 31 years old now, I was outlasting most of the athletic teenagers on the track this winter at the Sandbox...

1. Improve Cardio by jogging 20 minutes every weekday.
2. At the same time as jogging, I use one of those grip strengthening things with the spring. I start out by just using my right thumb and hand and hold for 1 minute, then I put it in my left hand (entire grip) for the next minute. I repeat this until the halfway mark. Then, I'll just alternate hands every minute instead of just using the thumb.

Give it a shot... both things are free and require no gym membership or pill popping!

I think I would be able to skip to many days .. to cold, raining ,snowing once you miss one day the next day is even easier to skip I need to meet with a buddy so he's counting on me as well and then do specific arm training with the fatgripz (unbelievable difference in grip strength after using them for a few weeks ...they were designed for hard core body builders to specifically strengthen there arms ) I also use the Farmers Walk bar for cardio and strength training

Those are all good. Also try using a tennis ball, or one of those foam or sand filled exercise *****......

Just walk around with it all day in your hands squeezing the ball.....after a little while your hands will get strong enough to suck that blood right through your forearms and keep the arm-pump down.

You can also try adjusting your bars and/or changing grips if the exercise does not work...... I know a lot of MX racers have worked out arm-pump by changing the bend on their bars or switching to a different grip or both..... or adjusting how they run their suspension or tire selection ........

Point is the exercise is the #1 option. But if that does not do it fully try making some of those other adjustments in cooperation with the exercise.

yea I had the same problem to, but my wife saw this thing called the "gyroball" and bought it for me. It looks funny, but man does it work. use it for a whilte and it builds up your endurance really well. Heres the link. Welcome to PowerXBall.com. She got it a sporting goods place, so you should have no problem in getting it if you like what you see.

Just learned of another cheap way to fight arm pump. Take a short bar, put a small rope with about 5 lbs at the end and have the length so it nearly hits the ground with your arms straight out. roll it up and roll it down, don't just let it slip down. You will be amazed when after about 4 times your forearms will be burning. The rider that told me about it does it every day and claims he gets absolutly no arm pump. I think we have about 5 bucks invested.
