national numbers

The top 10 or 20 at the bike MX's do not have to qualifty to make the qualifity that you see at night at supercrosses. At the supercrosses there might be 60 or more 250 bikes at the event. If you go early to the event they have heat races to get 20 or 30 riders so that they can have 2 semi races of only 20 in each semi. If you go to the GNCC races the top 10 pro riders are given the first pick on the starting line and the rest have to draw spoons for there spot on the starting line. I am not sure about in nascar about the driver taking what is called a provional, but is that about the same.
The only time that the pro's will have to have a semi race at the mx's is when we have more than 20 pro's sign up. At the TT's they all still have to quifity so that they can get there pick on the starting line.
In MX arn't the top 10 going to quilifity for the main at 12 on Sun? If they break down in the semi at 3 on Sat, they will then have to race the conco at 10 on Sun morning with fewer riders. Who do the people come to watch? would you want to see Gust, Farr, Ellis, Hitt, and Hitt or a local pro that is going to get lapped by them. This past weekend we took all 21 because of the weather conditions.
Something that you will see in the next few years is a system so that only certain riders can sign up in the pro class. We need this because last year we had a rider show up at a national and had to buy a AMA card and then wanted to ride the pro class. We have no way to stop that know, it had rode a few local races and did good. He did not even try some of the doubles much less the triples at the race.
See me at the next race and we will talk.

Ok, I see your point but, until we get 60 quads trying out for the pro's, make them qualify anyways. It will make for more exciting racing to participate in and to watch. And how you mentioned about breaking down in the qualifying and making it in the LCQ, sometimes there is that time when they have problems in both. Look at London, Spader blew a motor in practice and then his backup motor obviously wasn't good enough becaus ehe couldn't finish in as high of a place as usuall. What I am trying to say is, sh*t happens and sometimes it turns into good for those who would not have normally made it to the main. As far as the slow riders, I havent seen a slow Pro rider yet this year. I know of one though who hasn't been out yet this year and I think this is the same person you are talking about. But I think if, before some of these rules go into place, they should be talked about with alot of the riders and see how they feel. If their arguements are legitimate, think twice about the rule. We would come talk to you at the next race, but you know as well as I do, usually time does not allow for a lengthy discussion about this and things always come up. I think this is a good healthy way to get others opinions on the issue and also to see your view on things as the official. These remarks are not meant in any way to be derogatory and it is just a healthy debate of the rules, so dont take any of this the wrong way. Scott and myself will be more than happy to continue this discussion on here, but at the track, there just isn't enough time. If any pro's come on here, I would like to hear your viewpoints on the whole thing. Thank You. MARK DEGAIN
