I'M NOT SURE WHERE HE FINISHED EXACTLY, BUT YES HE DID GET A BAD START, 3 RIDERS WENT DOWN IN THAT FIRST MOTO , NATALIE AND BYRD , AND I CAN'T REMEMBER WHO THE OTHER WAS. IN THE SECOND MOTO I BELIEVE BYRD WAS TOWARD THE BACK AGAIN , NOT A GOOD DAY FOR HIM.

I was standing right there when Byrd and Natalie got tangled up on the start and let me tell you Byrd was not happy and he sure let Natalie know about it. Byrd's entire left nerf bar including his foot peg broke off, and after he chucked it into the fence he rode the entire race like that. On a side note...on saturday evening we were all sitting around the camp and I happened to look into the woods and saw Doug Gust in there on his thumper. He was talking to someone but I couldnt see who. Well it turns out that Byrd was having trouble in practice with his Varner engine and he needed some advice from Digger Doug. The next thing we knew we were watching Gust and Byrd go all out in the field right in front off us. After they raced about 6 or 7 times(Gust won all of them) they started pissing around on a big hill. It was just kinda cool to see those guys taking things so lightly. It reminded that they are just guys like us who love to ride quads.

Yeah, its nice to be reminded sometimes that they love what they do, and not just ride to get paid. This is one sport that you definately have to love to succeed in.
