So I was wondering if some people could give me some insight on the New England MX races. I was wondering how competitive it is etc.. I mean I am a pretty decent rider. But not positive. Ride trails most of the time but have gone over to Eagle Bridge in NY and ran that track a couple of times. Don't really ride with other quads just bikes so it is tough for me to tell if I can run with some quads. I do alright with the bikes. In the trails I am right up there with a bike if not faster. But I would like to take a crack at the MX scene. So I know there are all different classes etc.. But I just don't want to be that slow guy or that guy people are getting pissed at for being slow. So I guess the only way to figure it out is to go for it. I mean do people hit the jumps like fools? I am decent at jumps but not anything great. Not that I can't just scared I guess. Well any help would be great. Or suggestions. Thanks guys

Racing in the NEATV-MX series is a blast and it can be very competitive, depending on what class you enter. Based on what i have read in your post, the 250 C or 250 B class should work for you. If you feel you have the skill try the 250 A class. Note: A=expert, B=Ameture, C=Novice. All you will need for your bike is a Tether Kill Switch. You already have the nerb bars. Here is the website for NEATV-MX, note this one is only temporary.

Here is the new site, but it is not finished or operational yet.

Take a look at the 2001 points, this will give you an idea of how many riders there are in N.E.
All I have to say is this....once you race the first time, you will be a racer forever. Goodluck and hope to see ya there.....My number is #352, I will be racing in the Open B class, riding a blue raptor....

Give it a shot, you'll love it. Just try the c or b class first like herbdon said, i'd almost reccommend going right to the B class because there are less riders and last year there wasnt even enough for a full gate, so you dont have to bother with qualifying. The C class can get kind of rough because there are so many "novice" riders. i see you have a 250r, so youll be in either the 2 stroke C or B, i havent done the 2 stroke C (i did open C), but i have raced in the 2 stroke B, and that was probably my favorite class i have done in the NEATV-MX series. Sorry if i rambled on a little, but if you have any questions, just post it or email me. also, if you race, look for #40 in the pro-am and pro-open classes, ill be glad to talk to youand offer any advice.

Herbdon, out of curiosity, what class did you do last year? open C? if it was open C then we might have race together.
