Default Debating the Utility to Sport Switch

I have an '06 Banshee and an '07 700 Griz. Nothing beats "the best of both worlds" if you can swing it.

Default Debating the Utility to Sport Switch

Right now i have a 1997 honda 300(its my parents) I am going to be gettin a 400ex because i like to jump bikes, wheelie and all that stuff. I jump my 300 and wheelie it but it is hard on gear. I drive my friends 400ex alot and i like it alot more than the ol 300. i dont care about gettin dirty. The 300 is just not doing the job, This summer we just put new bearing in it and they are starting to get bad again. I hate drum brakes. The 300 is always wide open trying stay close to the sport bikes i go biking with. Well thats just what i think. I dont think i would miss the 300 when i get a 400ex. My parents you still have the 300

Default Debating the Utility to Sport Switch

I've always been a sport rider, but in spring I went out and bought a Rancher to do work around the house and tow my Swisher.

To this point I have not ridden the Honda for fun. I use it for work and trail maintenance but that's it.

But I'm a sport rider, I like to hit jumps, and hang it sideways around corners, and bang gears and feather the clutch.... this is all fun to me and none of it is part of riding a utility machine. I love to be able to literally toss my z400 around in the air, I can change lines in the trail at top speed with a flick of the wrist and just rail into the rough stuff and know there is tons of suspension to soak it up. I can hop from spot to spot with throttle and pre-loading of the suspension. And if I get stuck I can get off and pull it back out myself with little trouble. Plus it hurts a lot less when a 370lbs machine rolls on you.

But if you like trail blazing and exploring uncharted territory, mud churning and rock climbing, a 4x4 is a must. Some of the new ones are very fast too. But the handling is never going to be the same as a sport machine, just like an F150 is never going to handle like a Mustang.

As was said, having both is the ideal. But if I had to choose I'd keep my sport machine every time. Even if I was not jumping or throwing roost, just cruising around on the saddle of my z400 is nice an comfy.

With an Outlander 800 you have the best of both worlds. Fast, agile, and plush as a sport machine, and 4x4, racks, and big and tuff as any ute. I own both Outlanders and DS650's and I swear by the Outlander. The only thing that the DS stands out on is jumping. If fast is what your looking for, when compared to any stock sport machine the Outlander 800 is faster

The standard Outlander 800 is in the $8,000.00 range give or take. If that is too pricy there is also a 650 version (which is no sloach) and a 500 version. Good Luck

BTW, if your looking to keep your ute and buy a sport machine, make sure to look into the DS650 before you buy anything else. In my opinion its the best sport machine made, but that my opinion.

The Renegade would be a better both worlds quad than the outty. The Outty is still more Utility

I know what your saying, but Im not completely sold on the Renegade yet. Its only 50 pounds lighter than the Outty and has no racks. Granted, it has a sport suspension, but the Outlander is very agile and plush for its size. They both have the same frame, motor, and drive train. Just different plastics and suspension and the Renegade is about $1200.00 more.

I guess its all in what you want, I just know how much I love my Outlander infact Im in the process of buying another one. My DS is going to feel real neglected now.
