Foreman Dan...thanks a ton for the timely advice. I picked up my 420 Rancher ES today. I have only put 4 miles on it and I am loving it. I don't feel like I compromised a thing with this wheeler. I didn't break the bank and got a perfect quad for my usage. I really appreciate the input fellas....now I just have to wait 5 months for there to be some mud here in Northern Minnesota!

I think you are the first 420 owner in here. PLEASE, put on a few miles and give us a rider review in the Honda forum! Thanks.........

I'll be glad to do so. Not sure how helpful it will be since it'll be some months till I do any seroius riding. I'll put some miles on on the snow, (if we get any) and let y'all know what I think.

This isn't a comprehensive report on the Rancher 420 by any means but with 16 miles on the odometer a few things occur to me:

I don't know the specifics but I think this machine has a very favorable power-to-weight ratio. 560 pounds/420 c.c.s.

This is a very nimble utility quad. A lot of driving with your body, a lot like a snowmobile. I really wanted a machine that I drive, not one that once I hit the gas, I'm not sure where it wants to go. I got it.

Been doing some hill climbing on fairly steep, curvy, snow covered trails....more than enough low end snort to pretty much get up the grade at any speed and enough traction to not have a problem with snow and loose rocks. I like-ee

I'll get a few photos up sooner or later.

I have the ES. It has a digital speedo, tripmeter, hourmeter, gear indicator and oil change reminder. No clock though.
