.....and don't make the mistake of thinking you have to get an automatic. Last weekend, we took a bunch of non-riding friends camping with us, and I had a bunch of beginner kids from age 6 thru 13, and had them all shifting reasonably well within an hour or so.

 

how old did your son ride the trx90,would it be a better choice than the 06 pred.90 mine son just turned 11 4'8 100lbs. do you think he too be. I want be able to buy another one next year.

We went to look at the ozark 250 today and will more than likely get it. Thanks for everyone helps,hopefully we're getting the right one.

 

when my brother was 11 and roughly about that size he was riding a polaris Trail boss 325, but dont let the cc's fool you, its a good bit slower than his current 250ex and was a pretty safe fourwheeler and auto, nice fourwheeler but not very sporty at all

 

great choice. the ozark wil last him many yrs. its the best 250 out there. plz don't get on here and say the recon is better. ur just lieing to urself.

 

I got my 11 year old son the 2007 Yamaha Big Bear 250. He loves it, and rides it very well. The manual transmission w/ automatic clutch was not a problem for him to learn at all. Overall this is a great quad that can be enjoyed for many years.

 

i'd be getting something in the 200cc range...at 11 he's only going to be that size for another year tops then he will really start to grow, i have lil brother thats 13 and he can ride my z400 no problem (5ft120lb)...but hes got a lot of experience on quads so i'd go a bit smaller lol....250ex would be the best in my opinion


90cc is a joke, i'd only buy one of thoughs if my kid was like 8
