Go for the Can-Am Outlander 400 - it has the best ride of them all, and it will keep the mud off of you.

I've owned the Polaris Sportsman and Scrambler, the Yamaha Bruin and Can-Am Outlander.
The Polaris's are great reliable machine but are way, way heavy. the Scrambler was worse than the Sportsman. The Rancher, Bruin (now Grizzly) or Outlander would be better choices.

Is the Can Am 400 really as powerfull as everyone elses 500's?
They make a bold statement on hp, and have some evidence to prove so, just wondering what real world views are on it from you guys.

The Polaris Scrambler is a great trail machine! Sporty looking and will easily outrun the smaller 300-400 cc machines. It's been around for over 10 yrs. and very dependable and proven machine. Why buy Jap when US will do?

since it is an auto it does well with the slow technical climbs, I put mine through the creekbed this weekend, up to the headlights for several hundred feet before coming out of the water, lots of rough rocky spots and deep crossings with some mud thrown in and it did great. no problems or stalling at all.

I may have narowed it down now to the Honda TRX420ES or the Suzuki KingQuad 450. The Honda will save me $1000.
The Honda does not have locking front diff. or IRS.
Any advice on the 2 ??

Another vote for the Suzuki Eiger. I used to be one who never thought of Suzuki and only considered Honda and Yamaha. Until I got my Vinson 500. Actually, riding a friend's Eiger got me interested in Suzuki. The Eiger has good range(because of the 4 gallon tank), a high and low range and can usually be found at a very reasonable price. You also get your choice of automatic or 5-speed and it weighs about 575 pounds.
