Default BIG 14 year old looking for first quad

ok well now heres the issue...
after spending the weekend with my dad and going to MotoTownUSA where they held the northeastern national extreme stunt comp. (streetbikes doing wheelies stoppies and many other stunts) which was F**KING COOL AS HELL i learned that the indoor track also allowed quads to practice/race on it which they just started doing and after seeing a couple of 450's i am wondering if i wanted to get one of them but i know they have alot of power behind them and require some experience. i also found out from my dad that money isnt really an object when it comes to this with him he wants me to have exactly what i want and to be happy. but another reason why i am looking into the 450's is another question... if i get a 400ex/z400 will i be able to clear most of the jumps withought casing it stock? when we first got there there was a guy on what looked like a honda 450r or a 400ex im really not sure becuase they look so alike now on the track and i dont know if he was just going really slow and not trying to make the jumps completely or if he was trying and didnt have enough power to make them.

If you are going to ride mostly track and open country, then the 450 is the better choice. Just take it real easy at first, and don't try any jumps until you have lots of saddle time in.

On the other hand, if you are more of a trail rider and will rerely go to the track, then one of the 400's would be a better choice.

well im probably going to go to the track just as much as the trails since theres a whole bunch of trails and a track less the 10 mins from my dad but also im not going to be racing just on the track practicing probably with some friends and my dad but i just want to know if im going to have enough power to make all the jumps withought having to modify it right out of the dealer

youll have enough power with any decent size engine to clear a jump,a big part of it is by the rider, the bigger engines(450s)are just going to turn quicker, gain speed a little faster, and are a bit lighter.but if your going to do trails get either 400 because the 450s arent too nifty on them
get the z400 er 400ex

Hi,
Have you ever considered a GoKart. It has a lower center of gravity so it is safer.
Seats are much more comfortable and they have a harness which would make parents feel much better. If you are looking at power and speed. Check out our karts for 14 to 16 year olds. We offer many choices. 40$ of free gas when you order. Member of the Better Business Bureau.

Have fun and be safer at the same time!
