im bigger than you are...of course it also has it disadvantages....
i can guarentee you 100% satisfactory with a 400ex especially if your new to motorsports
(ive been riding bikes since i was 5 then i got an atv after i broke my collar bone)
because the 400ex has no problems with it unlike some other quads that things break and the 400ex goes around 60-65 when you first get it so its perfecto
if anyone tells you anything different than a 400ex theyre on crack because it a perfect quad

One of the 400's is a great choice! These are easy enough to ride that a beginner can handle one, yet an experienced rider won't get bored.
The EX and Z are pretty similar in terms of handling and frame geometry. The Z has slightly better suspension, and being water cooled it is faster. Both are high quality, and both engines are bulletproof.
I like the EX for tight trails. It has an engine that doesn't mind being lugged down and ridden slow. I like the Z for faster more open trails, and wide open country.

lol
but im probably going to go with the 400ex since there is someone i know selling theres for about 3500 with alot of upgrades and im not going to be going that fast since i will most likely be going on really tight trails (since most people i know ride dirtbikes
but the guy i knows 400ex is yellow and i hate that color and i was wondering if there is anyway without replacing all the plastics (which sounds expensive) to paint it? or is it too much trouble for something that doesnt matter?
