My Dad has a Mid mount Polaris brand Plow on his 500 Sportsman the 1.5 drop does not matter because a IRS ATV has ground clearance to spare.
Like mention the mounting plate is thick and tuff and also acts as a extra skid plate.
The 570 has 11" ground clearance and can afford to lose some.
