Test rode Grizzly and Prarie..Someone push me over the edge!

Wow, I thought this thread was long gone. Anyway I did buy the Gizzly and for the most part I am happy. I must admit I am a bit disappointed in the overall quality of the ATV (not sure if the Kawie would have been any better).
I think the engine on the Prarie is superior to the Griz. It ran much smoother and I think in the long run it would be a better design for a bike of this size (although that constant servo motor made me a bit nervous). I found the engine braking on the Griz better, but the brakes on the Prarie better. For the way I ride the IRS really didnt factor in but it gives the Yamaha the distict advantage in the looks department. I sometimes think Yamaha was overly concerned with the look and less on the way things work. Some of the plastics and the floorboards are just plain dumb (but hey, it looks cool).
This is the first real quad I have ever owned but I have been riding bikes pretty much for the last 25 years I and I dont think this one hits the mark. I have found over the years that Honda usually makes a pretty good product as long as you shy away from first year productions. If honda had something that even remotely compared to the performance of this quad, I would have went red. At any rate I have enjoyed this bike over the last six months and am learning to live with all of the little stuff that everyone has been speaking of in this forum. It just seems like alot of stuff to live with after spending 7 thousand bucks.

sorry guys. I enter the forum through my e-mail and I had an old reply notice that I entered the forum through. I must have backed up to this topic. I thought that I replyed to a different topic. It looks like it got more response this time than it did the first time. another funning thing is that I responded to it back in october and had a totaly different outlook. Once I gave in and bought the Kawi I found I don't realy need that IRS after all, the Kawi is so much more fun to ride I hardly ever ride te grizz anymore. I plan to sell it as soon as the 03's p650's are out.

Good for you on your Grizzly purchase!! You couldn't have made a better choice! To bad You had to pay the $7k though. I know how you feel I paid 8k out the door for mine! but I got the 2 yr warranty and a winch. Then I find out that i could have bought one tax free from Kentucky delivered to my doorstep in the crate for $6500.00! Boy did I get rooked! Anyway enjoy it you made the right decision.
