Automatic Quads

I didn't forget the Prairies or the Polaris line.
All of the Polaris models are tanks that suffer from poor handling and poor quality. Hardly something I would recommend to anyone. Especially for a small person new to ATVing.
The Prairie 300's and 400's have good reliability, but don't handle any better than the Polaris models.
Find a machine that is light and light steering as well.

Yes Polaris Quad are tanks. THAT IS WHY THEY RIDE LIKE A CADILLAC.
So this will make them not a good bike to JUMP. But because they are WIDE,LONG and, HEAVEY, THEY ARE VERY STABLE.
As for the POOR handling, they are not out to compete with 400 ex and Raptors on handling.
They are not a RACE machine BUT for trail riding they handle great. (LIKE A CADILLAC, NOT CORVETTE)
Depend what you want. MY GUESS IS THE CADILLAC.
As for the POOR QUALITY, I can not answer this one. I have had NO problems and the people that I know that OWN THEM, LOVE THEM. DO THE MAINTAINANCE AND YOUR PROBLEMS WILL BE AT A MINUMUM.
Like every manufacture, there ends up to be a bad ONE and that person swears against it, Or they bought the wrong machine for the job they want to do. (CADILLAC vs CORVETTE).
I beleive if you talk to people that acctually own them (CURRENTLY) you will find QUALITY is very good.

Yeah guys. I don't think this dude's wife is going to be doing much jumping. I'm not going to say that Polaris is the brand of all brands, because such a thing doesn't exist. What I can say is that I bought my Polaris one-year used, and it's never had a problem. I don't do anything spectacular to keep it running, just the same routine maintenance that's kept my 89' Yamaha running for years. I LOVE my tank!

We were looking about three weeks ago for an entry level quad for the family. I have a friend that is a Polaris Dealer and am comfortable that he will take care of any problems we encounter.
I was torn between the Trail Boss and the TrailBlazer. I liked the Boss for me, but felt the Blazer was a better buy. My plan was to buy the first one and have my wife fall in love with it and then end up buying something for me and my son. Well...that plan worked like a charm. My wife LOVES the Blazer. Yesterday I took my son out to ride for a little bit and my wife stopped by on her way home from work. She was all decked out in her nice work clothes and dress shoes. She threw the helmet on and took it for a spin right then and there. I can't stress how much she loves this machine.
Initially I wanted to also try this bike with my 10 year old son. He is a about 2 inches smaller than his mom and weighs close to 120. Since the purchase I feel that this quad is just too much for him. He is very cautious and goes quite slow, but I can see where that will not last long. So, not I'm in the market to buy a 90cc machine for him.
Told the wife last night, when the income tax return comes in...then it's time for Daddy to get his machine.
I honestly think you will not go wrong with the Blazer. It's a nice looking machine...has a pretty good seat and rides nicely.

I have a 2002 polaris trail boss and love it. Its easy to maintain and has plenty of power but is also really great for women to ride. The price is comparable tothe trailblazer and has 75 more CCs. I got my trailboss for $3400 out the door here in idaho.

Keep in mind that the +75cc trailboss is a 4 stroke VS Trailblazer 2stroke.
I am not positive but I have been told the trialblazer is more powerful. The Blazer can be moded cheaper.
My dealer acctually talked me out of the trailboss when I got mine. I am sure both machines will be great.
The BOSS has a wider seat than the blazer. Trailboss does look nice with new SPORTSMAN plastic too.
