I LIKE MY SPORT QUAD BUT I NEED MORE CLIMBING GUTS.
IS THERE A QUAD OUT THERE FOR HUNTIN, CLIMBING,
IN THE STEEP ROCKY ROUGHS THAT TURNS INTO A SPORT
HANDLING FUN QUAD FOR THE TRAILS

 

look into the wolverine it has all those capabilities and more.it is really sporty for a 4x4 and can top out at about 50-54mph. mine goes around 60 with the mods.

 

depending on if you need 2 4 wheel drive i would look at a kawi lakota. A friend of mine got one and it is great. it keeps up with my ex and it has racks and everything like that it is realy a nice little quad

 

Get a Scrambler 400 with EBS. I was at a dice run and guys were rolling and having a terrible time on this huge hill. But my Scrambler 400 went flying up with power to spare. That was before I got an RCR stage one kit and now it flys like a 4X4 version of my 350X on steriods! You get about 46 HP out of the 400 motor with the $325 the kit costs. It's a real blast in the snow too because you can put it in 2 wheel and slide like crazy. Or the Explorer 400 is almost like a Scrambler with a low range. RCR is coming out with a kit for those too. I don't want to get into brand bashing here, I like Polaris now after owning Honda's for years because no one else makes a high HP 4X4 like it.

 

Wolv99..I have a Wolverine already, just need more guts in the roughs and dont want to give up the fun/sport of the Wolverine. Is such a bike out there...Thanks

 

AtvGUY.. Scramblers are awsome machines but the chain drives dont do well in these conditions. Steep, slow rocky, brushy steeps. This is not clean & clear run climbing..or is your experience different?

 

Why not modify the Wolverine for more power. Might be cheaper to get new exhaust and re-jet or change the cam and/or get a big bore kit. I read about a Warrior that had been increased to 500cc.

If you are willing to give up sport, you may want a Grizzly or the new Rubicon when it becomes available.

 

My bike i allot sportier than the stock the bigger tire dont even really slow it down. the only time i notice them is in deep, deep snow and in really thick mud.but in wooded trails and on loose and hard pack it handle great. it pulls wheelies very easy and can even do a backwards one. all the mods ive add were worth it. im looking into piston, cam, carb and valve springs next. they should really make her scream.
