My first quad. Both have certain attributes but the wife will be using it and I will be used it for hauling wood, work and low end torque. Rough terrain area. Not for racing or splattering trees. Making a decision in next few weeks and wish professional opinions on the subject. Looked at Polaris and prices. Dealer hooked my to this site.(the AC Dealer). Also cannot find AC MRSP.

Make sure you check out the AC forum tons of good info and very nice and knowledgeable people there to help out. Basically you need to ride both and decide which you like best. If you don't need 12" of GC then the ACT 9" GC might be for you The ACT would have less moving parts and CV boots to worry about.

Thanks Rob.. the info I found was helpful. I guess you're right about comparing them back to back.

My local dealer said the ACT is now 10.8" GC and is only about 200 bucks cheaper

We have two 500 HO Sportsmans and a Scrambler 500 HO. We're going to buy a Sportsman 500 X in the next couple of weeks. I would highly recommend one.

If it is very rough terain I would recomend the 400i.If you have alot of large rocks,Irs is the way to go much smoother ride and they rock crawl extremely well.As far as working them they both will do the job, tonhs of low end torque.

Took the fall...bought the IRS 400. Rode them back to back. Not alot of difference in a mild setting but after buying, it's a smooth ride on rough conditions. $4900....maybe this is a good or bad deal, but I'm satisfied. Thanks for the input guys. Sold on AC and the service my dealer provides.
