don't the the 250EX its gutless
if you want to go fast get a blaster if you get the 03 it has hydralic disk brakes 02 and lower don't have them
the 300EX has better suspention
but modes on a 2stroke to twice as much so a piped blaster will easily take a piped 300EX whith more mods the gap widens stock to stock there pretty close more depending on the rider with the edge on the blaster
also the blasters i cheaper so a you can put some toomey pipes on a blaster and still pay less money l8r
good luck on your decision

I wouldnt mind owning another Blaster 03 model. I had a new one in 98 it was a fun quad to ride. I never done any mods to it so I cant say how the take em. Being a dirtbike owner I know how well 2strokes react to mods, especially porting.
\The EX would be good for trails and that Honda reliability(BIG +). They also have reverse. My Warrior has spoiled me on the reverse but if your quad has enough power you dont need reverse that often. Dollar for Dollar I IMO I would say the Blaster is the best deal out.

i would go blaster al the way. reason being my best friend has a 300ex, and his neighbor has a 250, the 300 blows it away. and ive seen blasters kill the 300. and 2 strokes are more fun anyways, right? and blasters are killer at wheelies. so i would definately go with the blaster.

I own a Kawasaki Lakota Sport 300 and it hangs with the 250ex/300ex pretty good.My Lakota as well as the 250ex are "automatic clutch" but they are great quads. The Blaster on the other hand is a "2Stroke" ,ive race a few blasters with my Kawasaki Lakota but they beat me at the top end.Id suggest to go with the 300ex or the Blaster.I love my quad(Lakota Sport 300) but its a little to heavy compared with the rest(250ex-349lb/300ex-377lb/blaster-320lb/LakotaSport-448lb).Though its heavy dont judge it by the weight only. That 300-Kawasaki lakota engine packs a punch for the other 250/300 level quads.Good luck on your future "atv" purchase quad pal. You need to check out the new Kasea Skyhawk 250. It has the Honda rebel 250 engine modified with 2 carbs instead of one. Big gun is designing a header pipe as we speak. This machine is top notch with 6 month warranty. I am getting seven in tomorrow I will fill you in later in the week. Cost is going to be much less than any other.

What are doing? For mud and hills you'd rather have a 4 stroke plus the 300ex thats for sure but it depends

If you plan to stick with it a while and have little or no maintainance, the 300EX is head and shoulders above everything else mentioned here.
The 300EX isn't a drag racer.
If you can live with that fact, theres no comparison with a Blaster.

This quad is mostly going to be for wheelies, trail riding near my house (mostly hard packed dirt with little mud), and the local sand dunes. The 250ex is kind of out of he question now.
