Andrew,

That's pretty much all I do it trail ride. IT DON'T AFFECT ANYTHING EXCEPT REV QUICKER. But just don't cut more than 6. I find 6 is the best...... Or as I said before.. the magic #...

If you cut more than that it will run lean on bottom end.

The 45 carb does not need a vacuum to open the slide. The slide is opened manually by the throttle. There is no such spring on the 45.

The only springs are the throttle return and the Acc. Pump spring.

Is it normal for it bog a little when you dump the cluch in second gear. It come out of it in a couple of seconds. Should I go down on the clip?

How can I help the bottom end? I thought I might take off a couple of disks. Would that help?

I've heard that for more bottom end power, you want more back pressure in the exhaust - so yes, more disks should do that for you, there is only one sure fire way to know though.
