The first time I do it myself...I brought it in for an inspection and service after I bought it...
And I haven't put all that many hours on it either...Always something not working 100%...but now I think it's gonna be fine if I can clean that oil tank screen and find a short oil filter.

my screen has been out 3 times now - I do it once a year without fail.
But I have never found the slightest little bit of anything on it - its been totally clean every time. but as always, better safe than sorry!

Hightower,
What oil do you run? I run Klotz techniplate 4 stroke synthetic 10W-40 & my screen has always been clean. Just thought maybe the guys with the sludge might want to switch oils....

Does every Dry sump system have one? If not, why do we have to have it at all? Are the deposits something that gets in the system and has to go through the motor to get to the filter?
