I think it should be in the owners manual. Aeter all where does it state to change oil you need a shop manual. Most people would never know about it. I was a service manager for a bombardier dealer for a couple of years and have gone to several Tech schools put on by bombardier and I never heard of it until I got on the forums. I know for a fact that the seadoo techs never cleaned one out where I worked. Thats Scarey. Thanks for the reminder

Maintenance chart and oil tank strainer info..
The manual suggests cleaning the oil tank screen every 200 hours, but I'm thinking it needs to be checked/cleaned more frequently.

Did mine a couple months back and it was NASTY!
I think your right. . . most owners don't know to check this item.
Al: Sorry to hear this probably caused the issue but, I am also glad it wasn't a parts defect (would rather see it somethin we can all prevent now that we know about it.) Good luck getting the engine back together!

I don't know, I haven't looked at it in a long time..I will check though. Nope, not in the owners manual that I can see. It looks like they left it out.
