well ran the first 727 that i've seen and since the new 720 this was of interest to me, it all started while checking out the new honda 440 kit, seeing how junior is doing well with the raptors i figure i'll see how it does with my extra 100 pounds. well not knowing what it is i race him three times and lose everytime watching him smile everytime, while the thoughts are building in my head of enjoy because i have something else to show you in a minute, so after the 5 loses on the honda. i go over and fire up the school bus. and roll back out and he was very excited, so we take off and as always it is a real task to stay on the 720, and the extended raptor is off in the lead, but not for long as sonn as the front comes down it starts to pull very hard and the raptor was pulled in and that was the way it went every time. the guy was very coo l after all though he came up and had a little grin and didn't even ask what was in the engine, shook his head and went back for more races. for those of you with interest these things pull very hard and long the rpm range is sick, they are even a little decieveing, they run very smooth compared to my stage two. plus you always feel in the race, and were talking drag banshees. the monster banshees still put it in place but some nose might help that problem but they would still win. i didn't mean those engines with foil around them i'm not sure those are still quads, i don't think they can dune very well but i could be wrong. well had a great time with the 720 it ran hard and for the most part did its job.

i was at the dunes yesterday when sandman was running his new 720 and i can say that his quad is the fastest four stroke that i have seen yet and i have seen and ran against quite a few myself.i thought i would make a few runs against him on my raptor and that didnt turn out too good for me because my gearing was too high but even with the proper gearing i wouldnt be able to catch him because that 720 pulls extremely hard in the midrange.the new 450 yamaha is going to be the one to watch out for if the ones i have seen are any indication these things are incredibly fast especially off the line.

 

thanks dune that is my thoughts also, those 450's are going to be the stock machine, i couldn't believe how those ran i wonder if he was running nutec well i'm going to look at those triple buff tires. i could have swore those 450 were on pavement the way they took off. next time i'll make sure i get on the far side as far as the start.

What would you say your horsepower is at now with the 720?

if jeffs 760 was 44 i must be 38, but the way that 450 ran yesterday, this is a thought if those put out 45 hp they weigh 350, he had a pipe mod, plus i imagine he was running a fuel additive( nutec) so the guy looked like a 150 to 170 pound. for a total of 500 to 520 total weight. so divide that by 45 but could be more. looks like a 11.5 pounds to a horse, well since i was able to re gain the lost ground from the start i think it could go like this, 480-500 for the ds 190 me so pretty close to 700 so divide by 11.5 and it turns out to be about 61 and since i was able to gain some lost ground i think i may have a little more, his triple buffs probably helped a little on his side, so i would say in the area of 58-64, but i could always hope for more. does anybody else have any ideas , and that is all based on the 45hp from the magazines.
