Default installed mbrp...but headers started melting the hose!!!!

i finished installing the MBRP full exhaust (headers and back)

and i for some reason never paid attention to the fact that the either oil or coolant line running to the engine case hits the exhaust header....

i had only run it for around 3 mins, got off and saw a bit of smoke (it was the rubber melting)

it only grazed the outside, and didnt penetrate the hose...but now i have the problem of relocating it... (i COULD shift it to one spot where it wouldnt touch the headers, but it makes it almost kink at the engine)

what exactly runs in this hose? (can i undo it and run it on the OUTSIDE of the exhaust heat deflector? (on the right side)???

hmm what to do

any hep is appreciated...!

Carefull those headpipes will get red hot... Check them out when you ride at night. The head pipes started to destroy me carbon fiber exhaust guard. Im working with the manufacture to find a solution to the problem. Keep any and all hose wires and skin away from the head pipes. Hot is a understatement...

Yes...I ran my Woods headers without the heat shield...

You should see my inner knee now... Looks like a scene from the Exorcist or something.... Don't try to reverse the quad without getting off the bike if you don't have a heat shield... I was pushing backwards with my feet on the ground and somehow got in contact with the header... I now know how to dance and jiggle

ok, so if its just a breather hose, there is no fluid traveling through it (no pressure?)

so where does the top of the hose go to? (is that what i would need to relocate?)

is the top of the hose just attatched somewhere up by the airbox?

but ya i have 4 burns on my arms/hands already from those dang headers...(have some nasty scar tissue and blisters)

If it is the hose I think your talking about, I do believe that it runs into the hose that goes into the left side of the air box.

you will need a small filter for the end when you re locate it so sand and dirt don't get in there and go down into the engine, most auto parts stores have small filters you will see them when you look for them.
