Both Quads, the DS with the dry cell and the EX with the stock battery BOTH sat unstarted since September 6th. I went to start them up and play in the snow and the DS was able to get started with the choak in about 3 trys. The DS just dimed the lights. No power to turn the starter. WTF?

Sounds like you should contact the company who made the dry cell. Both my DS' have the stock battery & have not had any sort of battery troubles, ever. There was someone on the forums who had a trick looking bright orange battery that was supposed to be good. That would look nice on a Baja, however it might not be so hot on Ol' Yeller.

Stock DS battery sucks. Replaces mine when it was only 6 mo old. Warranty on battery is only 6mo also. Imagine that. Buy a Odyssey drycell/gel battery. Only 78 bucks delivered to your door from sunbattery.com You will need the PC-545. Perfect OEM replacement size. Sunnbattery only sells batteries, they have batteries for anything you can think of. Shipping is 5bucks now matter how much you order.

If you are going let the battery sit that long you need to have a http://www.batterytender.com/ attached.
