Depending on your single carb, you may want to just stay with a single. Most of the guys here just run singles. You may want to read the thread farther down the page titled I got a bigger hammer. Jim has one fast DS and he is running the Lectron hv46.

Unless you are big bore or oversize valves - not needed.

I run the Twin FCR 39's with the stock thumb throttle and cable. Needed a tricky dicky thingy dingy that Gary at TVI has for about $10 but, it works great.

I didn't cut any springs or anything and it isn't any harder than the TM45 on the thumb!

I did everything at once so, not sure what the 39's by themselves did. I like the set-up though.

You will have to cut your frame at the upper crossmember. We ended up cutting mine out. I no longer have an upper motor mount!

I have the center pull design (I hear it gives more pipe clearance so, wanted that! On dunes has them on their web site.

Know anyone that is looking for a TM45?

I went from the 45 to the 39's just recently. The The 39's throttle response is killer and you can not keep the front on the ground as you roll through the throttle in 3rd with stock gearing. Unless the gas cap is a butt plug. I use the twist and am also one of those that prefer the twist. To many years as a two wheeler I guess. Believe it or not..on the top end I gained nothing over the 45 in fact I lost a little. I have been able to tune the carb in some and gain back most of the top end. I feel there is still some there and will be trying diff needles. All I can tell you is from what i've seen so far It's a hell of a lot of money to not get the results I was hopeing for.

Eagle,

Do you have the larger valves in your head?
