back on the original question,
the only 760 I've been around is BigWaynsters, it was a totally different machine after THEBOM worked his mojo with it, above and beyond what it was when the kit was first installed by the original builder. That bike is a monster, I've never seen another 4-stroke like it. Banshees would keep lining up and one after another Wayne would take them down. built and twisted banshees with mega swingarms I'm talking about.
second part of the question concerning XC,
dude the DS in general aint built for XC, I raced XC on mine and although it is the only choice for me because I am 6'-8" tall, if I was a smaller guy I would not have been on it. I would be on one of the 450's, no doubt about it.
But as far as ignoring that and using the DS for XC goes, the stock motor with simply a higher comp piston and different cams is the way to go. You want a closed airbox for XC, and you want stainless exhaust for certain, there is plenty of torque to be gained on a stock bore, I have 30% more hp on my stock bore over stock hp with simply adding bolt-ons and piston and cams. Alot of what the 760 is capable of would be compromised without opening up airflow my getting rid of the airbox, it would be a huge waste of money for XC.
