I used to be one of the ones to buy a bunch of the rags every month, now I never buy any of them because of terrible reporting like this. Whoever hands over the fatest check is the best for that time period.....yuck, makes me sick.

They always include the "Big Boys like the DS best", no matter what they choose to criticize.
It's always something.

I liked my '01 DS,,after I fixed the suspension and handling.
I liked my '02 Baja, but it seemed even heavier than my '01. And I hated the orange color scheme.

The X is the Bomb.
I think the shorter swingarm is a little less re-assuring for the rider not quite used to the weight and power of a DS. Once you get used to the lighter front end and quicker weight transfer it becomes a lot more fun to ride than the older DSs. The chassis of the X is lighter and more responsive..
That is what we asked for. And I freakin love it. And the styling of the X is so great.
Can you tell I really like this quad?

 

I'm confused, is there a model year of the DS that didn't come with a stainless header?

 

I love my X and I dont need anyone to tell me that what hangs between the rubber is too short. Mrs X likes it just fine. lol.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

I have the dissatisfaction of knowing that Hi Torque publications is based right here in Valencia, CA. They are only a couple of miles from where I live - I've never tried to find the place, but it's just down the street in the industrial center. I've never much liked Los Angeles, being from a neighboring County (Orange County) we always used to think of LA people as weird and quite a bit out there - well, this just proves that thought. Los Angeles people ARE WEIRD! Then there are those who are truly screwed up & some of them write magazines, and some of them even write for Hi Torque Publications.. The worst part is they don't even know it.

I recently ordered but have not yet recieved a 04 ds 650 not the baja X, i thought that it also had the new short swing arm and braided lines
i know the shocks are differant and wheels and some other cosmetics but i thought the bikes mechanicals were the same .

I hope i was right as it is to late to change my mind
