I don't own a traxter but I do know a couple of people (farmers) that do and they love them. The power and the step through seat is something that they like when you get on and off your quad to open and close gates. As far as the DS650 we don't have them here yet but I am looking forward to test driving one when it comes in to see if I am definately going to buy one or not. Deposit is in

If I'm reading what your typing correctly, my guess is trx430ex is probably a 12 year old son of a Hondaphile. It's sad to see people like that who are so blinded by thier own righteousness that they think anything without (for example: Honda) printed on it is junk. I guess when he grows up, he may learn, or not who knows. It's just very saddening. Or is it this kid just wants to 'be cool.' who knows.

I too agree with blackhawk. This 430ex character is your typical ex rider. I really don't understand why everyone thinks the ex(400) is such a great trail bike. Their idea of trails must be different from mine. I have a friend that "rode" (I said rode because it has been broke for months)with us on our "trails" on his 400ex, and we could have no fun because we would spend a good part of the day helping him up, over and through the stuff that we had no problem with.I know part is due to rider, but even a very experienced rider would have problems on our trails with that bike. To avoid a big argument I'm not going to say what we ride, but I assure you they are not 400ex's. The only real place a 400ex "had" an advantage over all other bikes was on the track, but as a former owner of Rotax powered machines and knowing the history of Bombardier engineering, I would say the 400ex could kiss that goodbye also. I'm not down grading Honda's, just pointing out the facts to there owners. Back to the drawing board. OK. Now I'm through venting.

How is it that so many people have already determined the performance of the DS? No one has actually ridden one yet, right? Has anyone actually seen it? Not that I have heard, other than in the ragazines. So, eveyone has decided to compare things on paper, and then make assumptions of what they don't know. I, for one, am happy to sit by the wayside and keep an open mind. The quad may be anything from terrible to revolutionary. But, we won't know until we see it.

The heat factor that 430 was talking about may have some relevance. The 400EX puts out some serious heat, especially on warm days. I can imagine the 650 would be a little warmer. Can we make a new designation? ie: trail/track? The 400EX is really too fast (high geared in first) for "serious" trail riding. The trails around here are almost always blocked by blowdown trees. And the motor gets EXTREMELY hot when running in 1st gear all day. If you trail ride with other sport quads it will be more fun. 4x4s and 400EX's don't mix as well. Mostly because you can stay drier on the 4x4!

Well looking at the rest of Bombardier's products, this should be a good one... Here in wisc. i haven't seen dunes in ages...lol Hope that 650 has some good bottom end for the woods... As for heat.. This ones liquid cooled the 400ex is air cooled.. Not sure about the difference in 4 strokes, but it makes a big change in 2's... Hey, at least they are starting in the right direction... the 650 rotax in a 400ex,,,,hmmm.......

Why would you NOT want to see 1986 happen again. You could walk into any of the big four and by a high-performance quad right then and there! (Well 87 for the Tecate-4, they did have the Tecate-3 though).

1986 marked the begining of the end for high performance sport quads.Honda released the 250r with almost 40 hp right out of the crate. To many people with more money than comman sence.Hoped right on fired it up,not respecting it's power and then proceded to wrap themselves and the quad around a tree within 30 seconds,
Not taking responsiblity for their own actions,They sued honda claiming honda built an unsafe machine,And they won in litagation.
By 1989 honda had enough,On top of it's game winning almost every race,Management pulled the plug on sport quads. Lossing so much money in court offsetting any profits they made in sales. They walked (or ran) away.
By 1991 all sport quads were gone from showrooms, and they didn't even want to talk about it.
Entering now the dark ages of sport quads all manafactures bailed out, except the loanly yamaha banchee who held the tourch to this day.
And now here we go again,Hopfully not!!!!!!!!
