Anyone have a stock front shock break? My brother jumped his DS on a low table top (jumping on to it) & broke the shock. I've seen alot of DS jump higher & farther with no problems.

Oh it is a 2000 DS 2nd owner.

 

That sounds odd... I have broke works tripple rate w/ rezzys BUT NOT the stockers.

I have launched off 15ft dropp offs and flat landed and bent my axle but the shocks didnt break. What year is the ds?

I busted my rear raptor shock down where it adjusts on the swing arm.

 

i actually broke my 00 ds's front shock as well. kinda wierd because everyone thought it was odd also. i was at a mx track and started launching really crooked off the jumps and the front left shock seemed dead. thought i blew the seal or something. layed off the jumps and cruised around for the rest of the day and when i got home i took off the shock. much to my surprise when it came off the shaft that slides in and out of the gas cylinder was broke in half at the base. the shock litarally came off in two pieces. i got the works triple rates w/o rezzys. have not put them on yet seeing as how i am out to sea for a few more weeks. navy. anyway though it happened to me too.

 

Nice work so far on your DS Bombsaint! Out on the boat for 6 weeks means you'll be saving up some cash for some more mods.

 

i have so much money wrapped up in the ds bringing it back from dead i am not sure what to do next for motor mods. i dont want to spend an arm and a leg, been there, done that. now i cant walk and its hard to clap. lol. probably put the hubs on the mill and cut some weight. a new pipe will shave some fat too. i think the pipe is next. thanks.

 

My brother's shock broke @ the top where the shaft screws into the top aluminum cap (top shock mount ) that attaches to the frame. It just seems odd how it broke.

i've never broke one and i've landed real hard a few times(flatlands), i bent one tho, damn truck, lol, which is now why i have elkas on the front and one stocker in the shed

 

I haven't broken the stockers either. And I've landed hard enough to bend all four rims and the axle. (my back can still feel that one!)
