Default heat shield

I am looking at options for heat shield on the LTE exhaust. the mid pipe melts your pants on the left side. LTE has a heat shield. it is kinda spendy. what is your opinion on this type of heat shield. I wondered if I could use this in the spot that my leg touches the exhaust. or do you have to wrap the whole thing.

I've seen a few guys run that or something similar to it near their dual carb set-up to prevent fuel from boiling in the bowl.

It should work but, I'm sure the LTE heat shield would look much better.

Could you get some thin plate aluminum and round the corners and drill holes where the shield is to mount? It doesn't take much to protect you.

As I say this, I'm thinking I should get some thin aluminum or stainless and make a heat shield for my dual FCR's.

yea, I was also thinking about useing a shield off of another pipe. or fabing one from some aluminum. I think your right on looking good to. is that wrap stuff suposed to do something performance wise? or is it just heat shield?
where does a person get the clamps that have the mounting nuts on them. or maybe I could just cut the tabs off the pipe I have. and mig them on.
