My big gun pipe just went from quiet series to race series. Anybody know why my bike would blow the baffel right out the end of the pipe. I was running it up and down the road at work and all of a sudden it got super loud. It runs faster now that it did that, but now the bike has a popping sound almost like a backfire when you let off the gas.

 

ARE YOU SURE IT WASNT YOUR PACKING THAT WENT?

 

The packing and the wire mesh that the packing raps around is still in there. when you look at the end of the pipe you can see all the way to the bottom. There were three small holes in the end of the pipe when we installed it. All the screws are still in the end, but now i have only one big hole.

 

IAM NOT AN EXPEWRT BUT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN WHEN YOUR COMPRESSION WAS TO HIGH DID YOU JET IT YOURSELF?

 

You are too lean if it is popping when u let off. did u jet it in the first place? if not jet it i used 175main and 48piolet

 

[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Last night they changed the jet from a 185 dyno jet to a 195. And i dont know where they put the needle at. The bike is running better than it ever has before. After a couple of hours running they took the plug out and said it looked perfect. Im still going to pismo tommorrow even without the baffel. Hope they dont do a db check on it becouse it is pretty loud. I will let you all know how it went on monday.

 

I had a Big Gun full pipe and had trouble with backfiring because the gaskets melted away and let cold air into the header.

My pipe only lasted alittle over a year and the cannister came apart at the rivets and the mount broke.

I called them and they wouldn't help me in any way. I wouldn't spend another dime with their company.

 

My big gun runs fine.
