maybe this is a bit belated, but why in the f@#* would you want put all that into a prairie, why not put the same money in a bike like shee, raptor, yfz, ds or a sled prject, and get more results for the bucks.

Manihick... simple answer is 4 wheel drive. Lots of the folks in the north go places that a 2 wheel drive couldn't.
We still want speed and like to race our buddys... I for one Pull my bike.. need all the HP I can get., and It's just reverse of what you race guys think. an auto will out pull any manual trans bike.
I have great respect for people like the Bomb, who make alot of power from the DS, and all the DS guys who are putting up big numbers, but to say puting money to make power in a V or a Priarie and it won't be fast....
Any DS or sports bike owners that's not 5.0 or less in time, there are Big Bore Priarie's that are faster than you.

i see what you talking bout, i've seen and rode enuf hopped up sramblers to know cvt's pull, but still you have to admit they can't get as much rear wheel hp as a manuel bike can. But i do see yah point bout the forwheel drive.

I have never ridden in sand, hope to some day. I can understand it would eat up HP fast. I talking about hard clay or tar surface in 200-300 ft. where weight is not so much a factor.
I'll have a supercharger on my 850cc in the next month or so, along with snowmobible clutches which will make a hugh difference, I'll post time slips and dyno sheets when its done.
I'll be in Louisiana next month for the graw.
Manihick, Good luck in Boot camp. Good stuff.
