Will the newer model plastic (shorter ds 650) fit on the longer DS 650 older models.
My question mainly is the plastic shorter on the new ones.

Yes the plastics will work. The swing arm is shorter, so that doesn't effect the plastic.

How about the front nose plastic? The newer DS has a different headlight and I think there may be a different nose piece, not sure. Anyone?

 

The tank cover has to be relaced at the same time. The bolt holes for the front piece are in a diffrerent spot

 

I think the nose piece itself is the same but, if you want to run the newer style headlight there is some other parts that need to be purchased.

 

srry air, but thats not true, i have red 04 front plastic on my ds and it has an 01 tank cover

 

A buddy of mine bought all black plastic and the front piece was at least an inch off lining up.

 

I bought the newer model black plastics (front & rear) for my 2000 DS and it fits great.

 

I have all black plastic,and I had now problems with things not lineing up, It has 2005 nose peice and rear fenders and a 2001 tank cover. Nice looking bike right now, untill the snow mounts and I get to ride it.
