Yeah, yamaha sure has a cash cow in Raptor parts, my neighbor has replaced about half of the parts on his 01 and it doesn't even get ridden that much.

I agree and point to when I bought my DS. . . I got a $1,000 rebate (Mine is a 2001). It was a very short lived rebate but, BRP has done a rebate on this bike before and they very well could do it again if they are changing something.

I seriously doubt they are taking it out of production. I wouldn't say they are or aren't changing it because I have no idea but, discontinue???? Would be one thing if they had a 450 class quad like Yamaha and it was taking many of the sales from their 650/660 class quad (guessing) like Yamaha but, they don't so, it isn't.

The DS650 just won all 3 SCORE desert races and was the only quad to finish the Dakar again... why would they discontinue that..??

Bombardier is not is not discontinuing the DS.IF anything thier line up is just going to get bigger and bigger. This is one Of Canada's wealthiest companys. They build everything from airplanes to atvs.So any contract they receive would not interupt (buses) production flow.So you guys out there who are worried about not being able to get parts have nothing to worry about.Even if this were true the company would have to keep parts for the market for a min 10 years, that is law in Canada.
Hope this eases some some worries.

I thought Bomardier sold it's recreational division and the ATV's were no longer going to be manufactured in Canada?

Bombardier Inc. sold the recreational division to the Bombardier family, who has since changed the name of the corporation that manufacturers DS650s, Seadoos, Skidoos, etc to Bombardier Recreational Products. This is more than likely a change for the better, as I am sure the Bombardier family wants to see their new company do well, whereas the Bombardier Inc. wasn't nearly as concerned considering previously it was only a small division of a much larger company that makes things like Leer Jets and passenger trains - like the Metro Link here in Los Angeles.

I am pretty sure the Bombardier family is french canadian so the thought of Bombardier making it's products elsewhere is not a high probability.

The only ds available for 06 will be the x package . there will be no base model . BUT there is something new comming . My dealer said it is supposed to be 500 cc , 2 stroke , BUT he didn't know if its a single or twin . I would have to guess a twin fuel inj . 500 . They have the injection down pretty good so that its only a bit worse on emissions than a 4 stroke. each year they get better and better !

ya their SDI motors seem to doing well as far as economy and emissions, but they seem to be having flaky ring problems which isn't like the rotax motors i'm used to, hell my old 77 TNT 440 is still on its original bore,

Eliminate the questions and rumors by contacting Bombardier directly, not the dealerships. It's not uncommon for a manufacture to skip a year when making vast improvements in design or revamping tooling.
